What does Interlochen Arts Academy have to offer?

Spend half your day immersed in music and the other half pursuing college-preparatory academics. You’ll work closely with our music faculty, who are accomplished musicians and dedicated teachers.

  • Explore course offerings in more than 20 instruments and specialties
  • Develop and refine your musical skills, mastering your chosen instrument or vocal technique
  • Analyze the nuances of music theory and composition
  • Learn how to confidently prepare for auditions, excel onstage, and pursue musical opportunities
  • Find your confidence through regular performance opportunities

In March 2026, Interlochen Arts Academy students will go on tour and perform alongside Yo-Yo Ma

Interlochen Arts Academy students will go on tour and perform alongside Yo-Yo Ma, the Boston Symphony Orchestra, The Philadelphia Orchestra, and the Detroit Symphony Orchestra. Under the baton of Cristian Măcelaru, students will present a multidisciplinary program featuring a new cello concerto by jazz legend and composer Wynton Marsalis. The program features Reena Esmail’s RE|member and a reimagined Ives Symphony No. 4 showcasing all seven arts disciplines.
