Interlochen Arts Academy

Interlochen Arts Academy is the nation’s premier arts boarding high school.

Students pursue pre-professional artistic training alongside a robust academic curriculum. The Academy has produced 50 Presidential Scholars in the Arts, more than any other high school in the country.

Interlochen graduates attend leading arts and academic programs in the U.S. and abroad. Our most recent graduating classes matriculated to the following schools: Carnegie Mellon University, Columbia University, Georgetown University, Harvard University, Johns Hopkins University, New York University, Rhode Island School of Design, University of Michigan, University of North Carolina School of the Arts, Yale University, and more.

Interlochen's beautiful 1,200 acre campus is located in the northwest corner of Michigan's lower peninsula, near Traverse City. By car, we are about four hours from Detroit, and six hours from Chicago. Our region is served by Cherry Capital Airport (TVC), which offers multiple daily flights to and from Chicago and Detroit, and seasonal service to/from Minneapolis, New York City, and Newark.
